Artist Bio: IDEK. is an experimental metal band formed Flevoland, The Netherlands. The band was founded by well-known names in the scene, Matthew Op\u2019t Eijnde and Yaresh Soekhlal, with a desire to create the music they truly want to play. Bringing in Harprit
\nBola (Amongst the Unbroken), veteran John Russchen (Gottlieb) and newcomer Kaya Bax, IDEK. created a balance of new, old and different influences.
\nThis resulted in crazy, heavy, fist pumping riffs, combined with jazzy grooves, blues, a touch of cynical humor and just about anything you can imagine. The band wants to crush any preconceived notion about metal and take the listener by storm
\nWith their fresh, yet recognizable sound, IDEK. managed to turn plenty of heads.
\nBass-player Yaresh, however, decided to leave the band shortly after to focus all of his energy on his other projects, including the eclectic metal band Mary Fields (Utrecht). Shortly after, both Kaya and John left the band to pursue other endeavours.
\nNow, the band recruited a new bass-player and vocalist: M\u00fc\u015ffik Can M\u00fcft\u00fco\u011flu.
\nAfter long sessions of writing and brainstorming, the band reinvented itself, working together more closely and bringing their music & songwriting to a more melodic, yet experimental level. This resulted in the track “Approaching Storms”: a faster, groovier
\nand more epic approach to their sound. Followed by the single “Battered and Blue”: a slower, darker song with heavy death metal influences.
\nWith a whole arsenal of new music, IDEK. is currently preparing to release more tracks as a three-piece before the summer of 2019.<\/p>\n
