Artist Bio: Jon Caspi has been a longstanding figure in the indie, alternative and punk scenes. In the late 80\u2019s he fronted the new wave band Bouncing Off Bob that had college radio success, appearing on the national charts. In 2005, he made his return to live music with the release of three solo album before revisiting his punk and American anthem roots with his band Jon Caspi & The First Gun. The band’s second album was produced by the legendary punk band Bouncing Souls’ guitarist, Pete Steinkopf. A band’s favorite achievement came off the sixth album, ‘Sucker’, which spawned another local hit and fan favorite, “Raise Em High!”, a barroom “Hooligan” sing-along. This song has far and away become his most recognized and is now a cult hit in his home state of New Jersey. At every performance, the audience loudly sings along, arms raised, drinks in hand\u2026whether they know the song or it is the first time they have heard it. The song builds a sense of community and it\u2019s \u201cunderdog has its day\u201d story resonates.
\nJon Caspi & The First Gun also released the album ‘Hanging Around’, as well as the streaming-only release single “Sun”, recorded with Dez Cadena, a central member of the legendary punk outfit, Black Flag, and also spent many years in The Misfits. He is now a full-time member of Jon Caspi & The First Gun. They are now in the studio and expect a new release this year.<\/p>\n
