Average Mammals
Average Mammals is an American rock band from Minnesota. Since forming in 2012, they recorded their first release ‘Life Under the Influence’ at The Pie Studios in Pasadena, CA. The album exhibits a mixture of sounds that show versatility without straying too far from their indie rock roots. They have been compared to bands such as Brand New, Cursive, Modest Mouse, and Queens of the Stone Age.
The band took a more D.I.Y. approach for their sophomore album ‘Petrichor’, tracking and mixing it in their home studio in northern Minnesota. This group of songs show more dynamics with the band experimenting with more unique textures and darker tones.
They’ve played some of their highly energetic live shows at venues like First Avenue & 7th Street Entry, The Fineline Music Cafe, The Triple Rock Social Club, and Bayfront Festival Park sharing the stage with acts such as The Social Animals, Jon Wayne and Ben Suchy, Carnage the Executioner, and Eve 6.
