Ensh – “Gender Bending” Official Music Video

Ensh

Ensh is the electro-indie brainchild of Toronto/Belgrade-based cosmopolitan loner, Milenko Vujosevic. Cutting his teeth on numerous projects through his formative years in his adoptive Toronto, Vujosevic reached a musical and personal impasse in late 2012. He decided to drop everything and move back to his birthplace of Belgrade, Serbia.

Belgrade proved to possess the nuanced cultural identity that was necessary to bring Ensh to life. This uniqueness, wrought from its straddling of west and east, creates a contrast that can only be described as tumultuously Zen. Vujosevic took advantage of his new found isolation becoming a one-man-and-his-laptop powerhouse of sumptuous vocal dynamics atop a foundation of programming. His surroundings also armed him with a wealth of fresh thematic material, ranging from his interactions with Belgrade’s seedy underbelly to the threat of falling prey to tourist traps Westerners stereotypically fear.

While decidedly synth and sample driven, Ensh retains an immediacy uncommon to the genre with the rawness of Milenko’s distinctive voice at the forefront. The music carves its own resolute niche alongside the roomy electronics of present-day innovators such as Björk and The Knife.

After the independent release of his debut EP “Belgrade” Ensh took the road playing all over Europe/UK in venues, bars, squats, and galleries winning over audiences with his engaging live show. With several tour/festival dates under his belt including Indie Week, Canadian Music week and the prestigious Exit festival Ensh has been able to fulfill his endless wanderlust.

His sophomore EP ‘Both of Them Milenko’ picks up where the previous effort left off. A better produced naive meandering of pop music and concepts featuring songs in both English and Serbian.
