MIND YOU was formed under the most inconceivable circumstances. While the Miami sound machine echoed Ocean Blvd. across Biscayne Bay and passing through the late 80’s & 90’s party scene in America, it also arrived at the aspired Jay Orriols (Vocalist, Guitarist and Founder). His reaction was Miami’s most infectious punk rock album of the 2000’s, “What It Feels Like.” Which helped lay down a promising foundation for Miami’s rock scene and provided MIND YOU with the opportunity to rock stages with bands such as Lagwagon, The Ataris, and Face to Face.
After a couple studio releases (“MIND YOU” EP, “Before I Go” single) and lineup changes, MIND YOU’s furiousity drew in pivotal band member Victor Vega (Guitarist) into the mix. With mutual backgrounds in everything from high octane skating off Cuban coffee highs to mellowed out beach life by the Atlantic, this was the trigger to the first evolution of MIND YOU.
2012 Miami, Florida. Orriols & Vega would provide us with the studio release “The Rise” thus creating a sonic buzz throughout Florida and luring in bassist Francis Hill. Further solidifying MIND YOU, Hill provided the backbone to a sound that was no longer limited to punk rock ethos.
Today the band has released it’s fifth studio album “Holiday for the Spirit” along with the single “You’re Every” accompanied by the music video and a series of tour dates. Gearing up to hit the road the band recruits the talents of drummer/vocalist Raphael Sangiovanni to the throne. Sangiovanni completes the four-piece and contributes intricate grooves and a spectrum of harmonic exclamations to both the old and new tunes making the Mind You catalog one you’ve yet to experience. The guys are spreading joy one show at a time. Till their spirits bring your holiday “Pura Vida”
