Hailing from the Rio Grande Valley (the southernmost part of Texas), this pop punk rock n’ roll trio was formed in May of 2016. The Palatines exploded onto the McAllen, Texas, scene with a hard driving, hooky, melodic flavor of punk with the likes of The Riverdales, The Creeps, Cocksparrer and Chuck Berry serving as major influences.
In April of 2016, Richard Casas (former bassist and frontman of punk band Baseborn) teamed up with Javi Luna to write the band’s initial songs. By that May drummer Jeff Antons joined to complete the group. The boys played their first show that July opening up for Piñata Protest and independently released their first EP on CD entitled ‘Never Made It’ a month later.
Since then The Palatines have shared the stage with bands like Night Birds, Nekromantix, Lillingtons, Teenage Bottlerocket, Wonk Unit and The Queers to name a few. 2018 saw another d.i.y. release of their debut 15-song full length album ‘Death from Below’ on vinyl and CD.
