About The Video: Danish Viking Lady on a Psychedelic Glam Rock Trip.
GØRL is the band fronted by the charismatic Mikala Nørgaard, the singer/songwriter from Denmark. They are releasing a teaser to their debut album in the form of an EP consisting of three tracks.
The tracks are dramatic and don’t shy away from big melodies and surprising twists and turns: GØRL are powered by their love of life, emotion and cold beer. The androgynous appearance of Mikala Nørgaard (vocals, guitar) perfectly complements a voice that is hard to categorize and can initially cause some bewilderment.
The rather mysterious lyrics, mainly written by her sister Fransiska Nørgaard, add to the confusion. Surprisingly the end result is exciting and infectious, even without the influence of beer or psychotropic substances.
As you read this text, GØRL is already in the studio recording the rest of the tracks for the album – if all goes to plan, it’ll be ready by the end of the year. On that note, a big shout out goes to the amazing team at Cosmix Studios in Vienna, who provided the means for some unforgettable recording sessions.
The first three tracks will be released on the 30th June, on GØRL’s ‘Repair the Girl’ EP. The unadulterated rock single “Repair the Girl” is seen, (not only by the band), as the starting point of a psychedelic journey. The tracks “Clockwise Love” and “River Child” provide a small yet meaningful glimpse into their stylistic range.
