Fights And Fires – “Church Bells” Lockjaw Records – A BlankTV World Premiere!

Artist city, country: Worcester, England, UK

Artist Biography: Since their formation in 2008, the band have released two albums, an EP, two split releases and a handful of singles, which are now completely sold out on all formats.

F&F wear their hearts on their sleeves – never ones to put scene credentials before honesty, they’re not ashamed to say that Status Quo and Thin Lizzy, as well as bands like The Bronx and Rocket From The Crypt, had an imprint on the Fights and Fires sound.

“We’ve had a change of heart,” says drummer Lee Jackson “We got to a point where we were sick of being in a band. We became naively wrapped up in this vision of ‘trying to make it a success’ and we were actually overlooking the important part, which is to make sure you’re having fun.”

“A lot has changed,” adds vocalist Philip Cox “In the time between writing this and the last record, we’ve all managed to get our personal lives together. We’re much happier people now. By making ourselves happier, I feel like we’ve got a new found love for music again.”

Fights and Fires are a band that pride themselves on having fun and truly enjoying themselves, whilst delivering, chaotic and passionate, rock-and-roll-inspired hardcore shows.

After turning their focus to touring mainland Europe, the band have built a solid underground fan base throughout the continent, and their sheer persistence has seen the band cross the English Channel over thirty-five times, with no plans to slow up just yet.

The band will once again be returning to mainland Europe this summer, in support of ‘Live Life like a Tourist’, with two further trips scheduled for later in the year.

‘Live Life like a Tourist’ is to be released on 12” vinyl and digital download through Lockjaw Records on July 14, 2017.

About The Video: Worcester-based punk-rock quartet, Fights and Fires, have released a new music video, inspired by Whack-a-Mole for “Church Bells”, taken from the new album, ‘Live Life like a Tourist, set for release on July 14th through Lockjaw Records.

“The lyrics for “Church Bells” relate to the morning of my wedding.” says vocalist, Philip Cox. “I spent it nervously fretting about if the previous nine months of planning would all come together. I took an early morning walk to clear my head, and could just about hear the local church’s bell chiming in the distance. It was oddly charming.

“The idea for the video came about whilst discussing how life always seems to knock you back down when things are going good – Almost like a giant human size game of Whack-a-Mole.”
