Cash Registers – “Sixty Seconds til Midnight” Million Dollar Records – Official Music Video
Artist city, country: New York City, New York, U.S.A.
Artist Biography: Cash Registers play raw, melodic punk. The band wears their Ramones and Buzzcocks influences on their sleeve, with the early hardcore of Black Flag, Dead Kennedys and Circle Jerks thrown in the mix.
Cash Registers mastermind John Bendik began his musical life in Pittsburgh hardcore scene. After relocating to New York City in the 90’s, John moved to the front of the stage to sing and play guitar for his new band, Cash Registers.
Cash Registers played hundreds of live shows and released two highly-praised E.P.’s and comp tracks for Flipside, Go-Kart, Intensive Scare and more. After almost ten years of raging in the clubs in New York City and the East Coast, John folded the band and took a break.
Itching to get back to music in 2013, John started sorting through his tapes & CD’s. He found 20+ unreleased Cash Register songs, which he remixed and remastered for the full-length album “Context Demos”. The album was released on Million Dollar Records in 2014 and picked up dozens of enthusiastic reviews. John formed a new version of the Cash Registers, with a fellow NYC punk vet Mark Zadroga to support the release and the band made their live debut in June 2014 in New York City.
In 2016 the band released their second full-length of ALL-NEW songs, ’20th Century Eyes’. The album picked up great press and airplay on radio and podcasts around the world. The band supported their second release with tour dates all over the Northeast and Midwest.
Cash Registers are currently working on their third full length, which will be released in 2019.

Song Lyrics: “Sixty Seconds til Midnight”
Ball drops in NYC Times Square
Running out the subway stop
The glass is everywhere
Sixty seconds til midnight
And all we do is stare
Goodbye Old New Year
Fairytale on Eleventh street
Not so indiscreet
Is that your friend
Or is that just a dead beat?
Sixty seconds til midnight
And all we do is stare
Goodbye Old New Year
Resolutions don’t come true
They were dead before we ever knew
Clocks changing the new Year
I hear if you volunteer
New York Style Handshake
Flyer in my hand
It’s in twenty minutes
Come and see my Band
Sixty seconds til Midnight
And all we do is stare
Sixty seconds til midnight
All the Amateurs are there
Sixty seconds til midnight
And no one even cares
Goodbye old new year
