Artist Bio: From the explosions of domestic terrorism, to the implosions of domestic relationships, Assembly of Arsonists has run the gamut of controversy in the underground punk scene of Phoenix, AZ.
Four independently released records after their 2010 acoustic debut, ‘Love, Songs & Bombs’, the 5-piece piano-driven, cabaret-style punk rock ensemble is readying their best-yet assortment of apocalyptic anthems, ‘The End Is Dear’, starting with the single, “What Lies in Ashes”, debuted April 26th on all streaming platforms, and with a music video on youtube.
Assembly of Arsonists’ new album is guaranteed to be packing contentious heat, especially given that each of the ten songs will be accompanied by a music video. The first main single, “What Lies In Ashes” is a dark and twisted scrutiny of judgmental peer groups, lead by dramatic vocals over carnival guitars and sinister piano. The video features real self-immolation, a tongue-in-cheek depiction of a Jonestown-esque cult gathering, mock-doomsday preaching on the site of an actual flaming car wreck, and more. In the exclusive debut, DyingScene.com called it “frightening, clever, original, disgusting, comical, theatrical, and above all intelligent.”
“Unconventional” doesn’t just describe Assembly of Arsonists’ music, but also their entire approach to performance and life, best proved by their penchant for playing under bridges, in tunnels, abandoned buildings, and wherever else they can get away with. Assembly of Arsonists talent is undeniable, sharing a drummer with classic punk rock band The Freeze (Slope Records), and a piano player from the punk-grass powerhouse, The Haymarket Squares.
Assembly of Arsonists is proud to be promoting The End Is Dear in collaboration with Slope Records (U.S. Bombs/The Freeze), a bond the band has formed over years of associated projects and creative endeavors, including web-design, help with merch distribution, and even a Slope release by the now defunct party-punk band, Sad Kid.
